Rev. Engus D. Carter serves as the proud pastor of Westminster Baptist Church. Over the past several years of his leadership, the church’s ministry has experienced a tremendous transformation as the church strives to be a fresh and relevant ministry to those seeking positive transformation and a genuine relationship with Christ. Under his leadership since July of 2005, the church re-located to the Ruskin Height neighborhood of south Kansas City, Mo. There, the congregation and its ministry is “Postured, Positioned, and Provisioned for Kingdom building”.
Prior to the call, Pastor Carter served as an Associate Minister at Galilee M.B. Church in Kansas City, MO where he also served as a youth choir musician and Sunday School Teacher. Prior to moving to Kansas City, he served as a Youth Minister at True Vine M.B. Church in St. Louis, MO where he was liscensed and ordained to preach under the Pastoral leadership of the late Pastor John Z. Jones.
Aside from his ministerial gifts, Pastor Carter has over 16 years of Business and Information Technology experience having held management leadership positions for such companies as Union Pacific Rail Road, Sprint Corporation, IBM Global Services, and the City of Kansas City, MO. He has earned the distinction of being an honored member of the Cambridge Who’s Who Registry of Executives, Professionals, and Entrepreneurs.
Walking by faith, in June of 2010, Pastor Carter resigned from his position as the Information Technology Manager/Director for the City of Kansas City MO’s, Kansas City International Airport to focus on full-time Pastoral Ministry.
Pastor Carter completed his under graduate studies at the University of Missouri-St. Louis earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. He also completed studies at Liberty Theological Seminary in Lynchburg, VA earning a Master’s degree in Theological Studies.
He is happily married to Kimberly Carter, also a native of St. Louis, MO and they are the proud parents of Brianna Elise Carter.
Pastor Carter seeks to exhibit a spirit of excellence in all that he does and it is evident in his approach towards ministry. He can best be described as humble, patient, and caring. He’s sincere and committed to the building of God’s kingdom.
